Green Building Initiative and American Institute of Architects Announce Collaboration Agreement to Accelerate Leadership in Building Design
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 10, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Green Building Initiative (GBI) and The American Institute of Architects (AIA) have announced an alignment to accelerate sustainability, health and wellness, and resilience in the built environment to achieve global objectives. This collaboration extends the resources of each organization to allow for increased cross-collaboration between the memberships of GBI and AIA.

- Co-promotion of AIA climate action initiatives and pledge programs within the green building community and GBI’s membership.
- Sharing information about and opportunities to shape GBI’s ANSI-approved standards, such as Green Globes®, and its programs like Journey to Net Zero™.
- Conference promotion of AIA Annual Conference on Architecture & Design along with GBI’s Better Buildings Seminar Series, including its Data Center Seminar, Learning Labs, and Project of the Year.
